The Department of Defense has implemented challenging new cybersecurity compliance standards for its contractors and sub-contractors. These standards include complying with the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) and National Institute of Standards and Technology 800-171 (NIST 800-171) which outlines the requirements that any non-Federal computer system must comply with in order to store, process, or transmit Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) or provide security protection for such systems.
